Snowfest – Moonlight Snow Hike
The Clayton County Conservation Board is hosting a fun afternoon in the snow after school on Friday, February 15th.
Snowfest will start at 3:30 with Art in the Snow. Build snow sculptures or create snow art and see how creative you can get. Participants can bring spray bottles with food coloring, kids plastic shovels, buckets, and more to help you get creative. We will have hot cocoa, marshmallows, and a campfire to help warm up. The sledding hill at the pond is closed this season, but there is a much smaller hill available for sledding near the old buffalo pen area for younger kids who wish to bring a sled.
Later at 6:00 will be Moonlight Snowshoeing through the pines. This activity is geared for older participants, and is a perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s Day. We will have snowshoes available to reserve or you may bring your own.
Please call the Osborne Nature Center at 563-245-1516 for more information or to sign up for either activity.
